Sometimes clotrimazole is combined in a cream with a corticosteroid; either hydrocortisone (as in the brand Canesten® HC) or betamethasone

If any of these effects last or get worse, notify your doctor or Do not put on cuts, scrapes, or damaged skin
To make sure it's safe for you, tell a doctor if you've ever had an allergic reaction to clotrimazole or any other medicine
Offer an imidazole cream (clotrimazole [2–3 times per day] or miconazole [twice daily]) for up to 4 weeks — ketoconazole cream is not licensed for use in children
In fact, it is one of the most effective creams that offer excellent antifungal effects on the baby’s skin
Since topical and vaginal miconazole and clotrimazole are not well absorbed, they are unlikely to be a concern for the pregnancy
2 A general rule is to refer the baby to a pediatrician if the skin is broken, and especially if the child has acnelike lesions, blebs, ulcerations, large bumps, or pustules
Your healthcare provider may recommend an over-the-counter cream, such as clotrimazole, tolnaftate, or miconazole, to treat your baby’s ringworm
Clotrimazole – apply to the affected and surrounding area twice a day
It is usually applied twice a day (morning and night)
